Q: What is the Emergency Food Assistance Program?
A: The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that provides food assistance to low-income individuals.
Q: What is TEFAP Food Assistance?
A: TEFAP offers groceries for approximately three to five days to supplement the food provided by food pantries. Amounts vary.
TEFAP typically supplies a variety of meat, dairy, pasta, beans, rice, and canned or fresh fruits and vegetables. This food comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is distributed by food pantries.

Q: Who can receive food from The Baldwin Community Food Pantry?
A: Anyone living within Baldwin, Woodville, or the Village of Hammond may receive food.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: No appointment is necessary. You can shop at the pantry any time during its operating hours.
Q: Besides TEFAP, what other paperwork must I complete?
A: Upon your first visit, you will fill out a simple form listing your information and that of other household members. At each visit, we ask that you sign and date the back of the form during check-in.
Q: Can everyone in my household shop at the pantry?
A: Only one member per household may shop at the pantry. A proxy shopper can be listed for each household if the primary person cannot do so.
Q: What if two families are living under one roof?
A: Both families can receive food. However, a representative from each family must fill out the necessary paperwork with their family information.
Q: How many times a month can I shop at the pantry?
A: You can shop at the pantry twice a month.
Q: Do I have to have children in my household to receive food?
A: No, the pantry is open to anyone facing food insecurity.
Q: What if there is bad weather? Will the pantry be open?
A: If the Baldwin-Woodville School District cancels school, the pantry will be closed for the safety of our volunteers and shoppers. We will announce this on our website and our Facebook page.
